Five of my favorite mostly natural, mostly under $10, dry skin heroes
Dear dry, thirsty skin, you are in for a creamy treat!
As someone who researches natural skin care like a wild woman and has tried just about every moisturizer under the sun (it feels like anyways) you better believe I come into this season armed with a few trusty favorites! I’ve tried a lot of things I’ve liked but here are 5 golden very favorites, all for a very good price and almost all natural ingredients. My skin craves these this time of year they treat it so luxuriously.
1. An Appetizer for Your Skin:
Rose mist is my favorite step in my skin routine, it not only feels heavenly like I’m in a glorious rose cloud, it also is extremely hydrating for your face. I use it in the morning before I moisturize my face, and at night after I cleanse it. I’ve been using the Rose Mist Heritage Store for years, but recently tried the version by Mario Badescu and like it really well!
P.S. it is also the perfect medium for mixing in other things you want to treat your face with, like essential oils or even sea salt.
2. Two Creme-y Hydration for Your Face:
I discovered Embryolisse Lait Creme for my first time this year on my search for the best french beauty products, as I have had a bit of an obsession with the way French girls treat their face. It is so utterly creamy and hydrating, and gives my skin a healthy glow. It always makes my make up look good. I just love putting it on, it makes me feel like a good skin goddess. It can be a bit difficult to find in good ole America, but fortunately, there are a few easy places you can buy it from, like Target.
I am also a dedicated user of Earth Science Almond Aloe Facial Moisturizer, which I have used for many years. It is a bit lighter than the Embryolisse Creme, so if you want something very practical, well priced, and natural, this is your guy.
3. A Multi-Tasking Nighttime Drink for Your Face:
Ladies and gentleman, let me introduce 100% Organic Cold Pressed Rose Hip Oil from the Ordinary!!! This quickly has become one of the most useful things I put on my face. Among its powers are the ability to help with dark under eyes, helps, and for lots of people cures, acne, helps with wrinkles, heals scars, as well as evens skin tone! Talk about a magic potion in a bottle! I use it at night after I’ve cleansed my face and doused it with my Rose Spray.
P.S. oily skin havers, be not afraid! It seems counter-intuitive to put more oil on your face, but it actually helps regulate your skins oil production and keeps your pores from becoming infected! This may just be the very thing you need!
4. Strangely, an Eye Balm that will Love Your Lips!
Wierd, I know, but this wild carrot nourishing eye balm is my favorite thing I’ve ever put on my lips! It’s just the absolutely most dreamy texture for your lips! Not heavy and goopy, like I sometimes find the glossier balms to be, but it lasts, unlike a thin, oily balm. It just feels so nice on your lips and it works hard to repair them and keep them silky smooth. I always put it on before lipstick, and it wears well. You can use it on any part of your body that feels dry, oh! and your eyes too. I use this nonstop at this time of year.
5. Creamiest Hand Cream, but You Might Want to Wear it Just for the Smell!
You know when you’re walking around in public sniffing your hand because they are just so dang soft and smell so good? No? Ok, you need to try this stuff then because seriously, it’s that good. I always keep my purse stocked with Macaron Rose Gourmand Hand Cream.I love it, and it’s a bit of a problem. There a few flavors to choose from but I always choose the Macaron Rose!
Well, those are my secrets to keeping skin feeling amazing in the dead of winter. They are all so good, and I use them all every day! It has taken me a long time to find things that work really really phenomenally well for a good price, but now that I have my favorites it sure pays off! For me, drenching my skin in moisture and treating it with all kind of goodness is such a pleasant part of my day, like a 30-second spa! Stay moisturized, folks!
